Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work San Luis Obispo by Karl Struss for USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,507.21). This price was achieved in the auction The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Karl Struss achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Metropolitan Tower--Twilight' in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 313,000.00 (€ 201,053.44).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit San Luis Obispo von Karl Struss für USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.507,21) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Karl Struss erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Metropolitan Tower--Twilight' im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 313.000,00 (€ 201.053,44).
