Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Karel Funk was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,435.50). Admittedly, works by Karel Funk have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled #12 in March 2017 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 30,379.51).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Karel Funk im September 2011 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.435,50) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Karel Funk auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled #12 im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 30.379,51).
