Auction result well in line with expectations

The work A Wood Kogo (Incense Container) by Kano Tessai was sold in the Edo Sparkle and Tokyo SplendorJapanese Art of the Last Three Centuries auction at Bonhams in New York in June 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,020.00 (€ 860.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kano Tessai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Noh Mask Of Okina, which sold at auction in June 2021 for USD 2,040.00 (€ 1,721.81).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit A Wood Kogo (Incense Container) von Kano Tessai wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion Edo Sparkle and Tokyo SplendorJapanese Art of the Last Three Centuries bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.020,00 (€ 860,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
