Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Longevity by Kang Youwei was worth HKD 504,000.00 (€ 60,937.27) to a buyer in April last year. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 160,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Kang Youwei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in May 2012 with an auction result of HKD 5,660,000.00 (€ 589,621.48).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Die Arbeit Longevity von Kang Youwei war einem Käufer im April letzten Jahres HKD 504.000,00 (€ 60.937,27) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 160.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kang Youwei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.660.000,00 (€ 589.621,48).
