The work Calligraphy in Cursive Script by Kang Youwei was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in February this year. It achieved a price of HKD 113,400.00 (€ 13,626.83), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 62%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kang Youwei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy in May 2012 with an auction result of HKD 5,660,000.00 (€ 589,621.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 62 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy in Cursive Script von Kang Youwei kam im Februar diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 113.400,00 (€ 13.626,83) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 62%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kang Youwei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.660.000,00 (€ 589.621,48).
