This artwork by Kang Youwei achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in September last year. In the Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Calligraphy in Running Script - One Requires Tranquility to Reach One's Far-reaching Goal sold for HKD 113,400.00 (€ 14,756.03) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kang Youwei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy in May 2012 with an auction result of HKD 5,660,000.00 (€ 589,621.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kang Youwei erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script - One Requires Tranquility to Reach One's Far-reaching Goal für HKD 113.400,00 (€ 14.756,03) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kang Youwei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.660.000,00 (€ 589.621,48).
