Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese PaintingsThe Online Sale, which included the work Calligraphy Couplet in Running Script by Kang Youwei. The price achieved of HKD 28,050.00 (€ 3,229.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kang Youwei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy in May 2012 with an auction result of HKD 5,660,000.00 (€ 589,621.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese PaintingsThe Online Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet in Running Script von Kang Youwei zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 28.050,00 (€ 3.229,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kang Youwei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.660.000,00 (€ 589.621,48).
