Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Skyline) by Kader Attia was auctioned at Christies in Paris in September last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 20,160.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kader Attia achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ghost in October 2013 with an auction result of GBP 181,875.00 (€ 214,974.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Skyline) von Kader Attia im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 20.160,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kader Attia erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ghost im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 181.875,00 (€ 214.974,81).
