Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Algerian mirror Mask by Kader Attia was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2018. The auction ended at the price of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 56,384.57), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kader Attia - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ghost, which sold at auction in October 2013 for GBP 181,875.00 (€ 214,974.81).

Die Arbeit Algerian mirror Mask von Kader Attia wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 56.384,57) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Kader Attia mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ghost beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für GBP 181.875,00 (€ 214.974,81) versteigert wurde.
