In October 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (River Scene) by K. C. S. Paniker. The result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,638.46) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by K. C. S. Paniker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Love in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 33,600.00 (€ 49,444.67).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (River Scene) von K. C. S. Paniker zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.638,46) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von K. C. S. Paniker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Love im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 33.600,00 (€ 49.444,67).
