It achieved a price of USD 8,820.00 (€ 7,950.96), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 47%. Admittedly, works by K. C. S. Paniker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Love in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 33,600.00 (€ 49,444.67).

Die Arbeit Thiruparan Kundram Bathing Ghat von K. C. S. Paniker kam im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 8.820,00 (€ 7.950,96) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 47%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von K. C. S. Paniker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Love im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 33.600,00 (€ 49.444,67).
