A top price for Justinian Gantz - as previously expected
In September 2000 Christies in London held the auction Exploration & Travel with Visions of India, which included the work Indian figures and an elephant in a street outside a European house, Madras by Justinian Gantz. The price achieved of GBP 4,112.50 (€ 6,881.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,500.00 – 4,500.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Indian figures and an elephant in a street outside a European house, Madras is the most expensive artwork by Justinian Gantz that we have observed at auctions so far.
