Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Justin McCarthy could be acquired at Christies in New York in January 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Liberation through Expression: Outsider and Vernacular Art auction, the work Toronto Maple Leafs Vs. N.Y. Rangers, Dated 1962 changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,654.91) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Justin McCarthy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Underwater with Fish and Coral, which sold at auction in February last year for USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,160.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
