This artwork by Justin McCarthy achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February last year. In the Outsider Art auction, the work Noah and the Animals, 1966 sold for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,795.79) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Justin McCarthy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Underwater with Fish and Coral, which sold at auction in February last year for USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,160.01).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Justin McCarthy erzielte im Februar letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Outsider Art wurde die Arbeit Noah and the Animals, 1966 für USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.795,79) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Justin McCarthy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Underwater with Fish and Coral beobachtet, die im Februar letzten Jahres für USD 23.750,00 (€ 21.160,01) versteigert wurde.
