Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Justin McCarthy could be acquired at Christies in New York in December 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Lollikeets changed hands for USD 375.00 (€ 282.61) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Justin McCarthy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Underwater with Fish and Coral in February last year with an auction result of USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,160.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Justin McCarthy konnte im Dezember 2010 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit Lollikeets für USD 375,00 (€ 282,61) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Justin McCarthy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Underwater with Fish and Coral im Februar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 21.160,01).
