Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Justin McCarthy could be acquired at Christies in New York in January 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important American Furniture, Folk Art & Decorative Arts auction, the work Girl In Red #1 changed hands for USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,388.89) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Justin McCarthy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Underwater with Fish and Coral in February last year with an auction result of USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,160.01).
