Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Julia Margaret Cameron could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2000 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Photographs auction, the work King Arthur, 1874; Lionel Tennyson, circa 1870 changed hands for GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,828.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julia Margaret Cameron achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sir John Herschel in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 103,258.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Julia Margaret Cameron konnte im Mai 2000 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine Photographs wechselte die Arbeit King Arthur, 1874; Lionel Tennyson, circa 1870 für GBP 1.762,50 (€ 2.828,16) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julia Margaret Cameron erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sir John Herschel im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 103.258,38).
