Auction result misses estimated price range
In October this year a collector was able to acquire the work Lionel and Hallman Tennyson, 1866 by Julia Margaret Cameron for USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,576.84). This price was achieved in the auction A Century of Art: Photographs from The Gerald Fineberg Collection at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julia Margaret Cameron achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sir John Herschel in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 103,258.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Lionel and Hallman Tennyson, 1866 von Julia Margaret Cameron für USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.576,84) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion A Century of Art: Photographs from The Gerald Fineberg Collection bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julia Margaret Cameron erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sir John Herschel im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 103.258,38).
