Despite a disappointment, a good price for Jules Van Imschoot
When the work The Battle of Sedan; and The Battle of Gravelotte by Jules Van Imschoot was auctioned at Christies in London in February this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,185.99). Despite this disappointing result, The Battle of Sedan; and The Battle of Gravelotte is the most expensive artwork by Jules Van Imschoot that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Jules Van Imschoot
Als die Arbeit The Battle of Sedan; and The Battle of Gravelotte von Jules Van Imschoot im Februar diesen Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.300,00 (€ 7.185,99) den Besitzer.
