Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Avoiding a live shell; and Signalling the charge by Jules Van Imschoot was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2003. The price achieved of GBP 1,292.50 (€ 1,887.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jules Van Imschoot - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Battle of Sedan; and The Battle of Gravelotte, which sold at auction in February this year for GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,185.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Avoiding a live shell; and Signalling the charge von Jules Van Imschoot kam im Februar 2003 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.292,50 (€ 1.887,01) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jules Van Imschoot mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Battle of Sedan; and The Battle of Gravelotte beobachtet, die im Februar diesen Jahres für GBP 6.300,00 (€ 7.185,99) versteigert wurde.
