Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Upper Keys - 1 by Jules Olitski was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 20,400.00 (€ 19,761.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jules Olitski achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blue Crazy in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 774,000.00 (€ 634,738.40).

Die Arbeit Upper Keys - 1 von Jules Olitski kam im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 20.400,00 (€ 19.761,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
