Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Road Into The Village by Jules Eugène Pages was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,949.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jules Eugène Pages achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sur le zinc in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 56,250.00 (€ 51,313.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Road Into The Village von Jules Eugène Pages im Oktober 2007 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.949,18) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jules Eugène Pages erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sur le zinc im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 51.313,63).
