Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jules Dupré could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny auction, the work Landscape With Cows changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,576.34) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jules Dupré have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work French Intérior De Ferme Dans Le Berry in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 115,000.00 (€ 73,869.48).
