Auction result well in line with expectations
The work French fileuse by Jules Breton was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 125,000.00 (€ 112,258.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jules Breton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French les Communiantes in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,270,000.00 (€ 1,140,547.82).

Die Arbeit French fileuse von Jules Breton kam im Mai 2016 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 112.258,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
