Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Une Sarcleuse by Jules Breton was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2020. The price achieved of USD 125,000.00 (€ 112,683.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jules Breton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French les Communiantes in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,270,000.00 (€ 1,140,547.82).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 112.683,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jules Breton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit French les Communiantes im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.270.000,00 (€ 1.140.547,82).
