This artwork by Jules Breton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in February 2019. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work French Sur La Route En Hiver; Artois sold for USD 375,000.00 (€ 329,554.44) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jules Breton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French les Communiantes, which sold at auction in May 2016 for USD 1,270,000.00 (€ 1,140,547.82).

In der Auktion 19th Century European Art wurde die Arbeit French Sur La Route En Hiver; Artois für USD 375.000,00 (€ 329.554,44) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jules Breton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit French les Communiantes beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für USD 1.270.000,00 (€ 1.140.547,82) versteigert wurde.
