Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tomando Mate by Jean Leon Pallière was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2009. The price achieved of USD 16,875.00 (€ 11,946.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Leon Pallière achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A caravan of gauchos and their wagons crossing the Pampas, Argentina in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 146,500.00 (€ 187,059.34).
