Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2019 Christies in London held the auction Topographical Pictures including Selections from the Kelton Collection, which included the work A gaucho with his steed on the Pampas by Jean Leon Pallière. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,848.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jean Leon Pallière have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A caravan of gauchos and their wagons crossing the Pampas, Argentina in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 146,500.00 (€ 187,059.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Topographical Pictures including Selections from the Kelton Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit A gaucho with his steed on the Pampas von Jean Leon Pallière zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.848,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean Leon Pallière auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A caravan of gauchos and their wagons crossing the Pampas, Argentina im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 146.500,00 (€ 187.059,34).
