Fine Chinese Paintings Formerly in the Collection of Mingzhai 南洋明齋舊藏古代及近現代中國書畫 Lots 801-839 楊作明（1925-1984），廣東潮州澄海人，後移居馬來西亞從商。雖是僑胞身份，卻對中國書畫十分著迷，自行鑽研書畫收藏。約六十年代末期，經由楊之光先生推薦而個別造訪北京榮寶齋、天津藝苑及上海畫苑等地，收購許多該地區著名書畫家之作。據藏家後人講述，家中與楊之光弟子單伯欽先生亦有深交，其中兩件帶其上款的作品分別為關良〈武劇人物〉（拍賣編號826）及關山月〈灕江山水〉（拍賣編號827）。因南洋地區專業裝裱行當較不風行，楊先生還曾特地在香港逗留多時，就教於裝池能手，返家後自行裱畫，其專注與投入，絕非一般收藏家可與比肩。

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Narcissus, Rock And Bees by Ju Lian was sold in the Fine Chinese Paintings auction at Bonhams in London in June this year. The price achieved of HKD 24,320.00 (€ 2,841.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ju Lian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Legends Of Flowers in July 2020 with an auction result of HKD 7,375,000.00 (€ 808,030.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Narcissus, Rock And Bees von Ju Lian wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 24.320,00 (€ 2.841,79) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ju Lian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Legends Of Flowers im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 7.375.000,00 (€ 808.030,41).
