Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Flower and Rock by Ju Lian was auctioned at Christies in New York in August this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 12,600.00 (€ 1,482.15). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ju Lian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Legends Of Flowers in July 2020 with an auction result of HKD 7,375,000.00 (€ 808,030.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Flower and Rock von Ju Lian im August diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 12.600,00 (€ 1.482,15) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ju Lian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Legends Of Flowers im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 7.375.000,00 (€ 808.030,41).
