Sold at the lower estimate price
In July 2019 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours Including Works from the Collection of Jean Bonna, which included the work Four drawings of putti at play by Jost Amman. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,293.80) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jost Amman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Procession of the Doge in the Piazza San Marco, Venice (Andresen, Vol I, P. 65; B. 27; TIB. XX, 27; Holl. 244) in December 2002 with an auction result of GBP 35,850.00 (€ 55,031.55).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours Including Works from the Collection of Jean Bonna durch, in der auch die Arbeit Four drawings of putti at play von Jost Amman zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.293,80) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jost Amman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Procession of the Doge in the Piazza San Marco, Venice (Andresen, Vol I, P. 65; B. 27; TIB. XX, 27; Holl. 244) im Dezember 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.850,00 (€ 55.031,55).
