In January 2009 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work View Of A Ravine In The Mountains, Goats In The Foreground, Houses Perched On A Cliff To The Right by Josephus Augustus Knip. The »bidding war« ended at USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,667.60), 46% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Josephus Augustus Knip have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Maison de Buffon in the Jardin de Plantes, Paris in November 2012 with an auction result of EUR 75,400.00.

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 13.667,60) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
