Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2017 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work A boy with turkeys by Josephus Augustus Knip. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,184.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josephus Augustus Knip achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Maison de Buffon in the Jardin de Plantes, Paris in November 2012 with an auction result of EUR 75,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit A boy with turkeys von Josephus Augustus Knip zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.184,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Josephus Augustus Knip erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Maison de Buffon in the Jardin de Plantes, Paris im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 75.400,00.
