Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2013 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters& 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism., which included the work The Staubbach Falls By Lauterbrunnen In The Swiss Alps by Josephus Augustus Knip. It changed hands for a price of EUR 1,875.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josephus Augustus Knip achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Maison de Buffon in the Jardin de Plantes, Paris in November 2012 with an auction result of EUR 75,400.00.
