Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings, which included the work The confluence of the rivers Talfer and Eisak at Bolzano by Josephus Augustus Knip. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,182.50 (€ 3,358.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josephus Augustus Knip achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Maison de Buffon in the Jardin de Plantes, Paris in November 2012 with an auction result of EUR 75,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The confluence of the rivers Talfer and Eisak at Bolzano von Josephus Augustus Knip zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.182,50 (€ 3.358,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Josephus Augustus Knip erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Maison de Buffon in the Jardin de Plantes, Paris im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 75.400,00.
