Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

It achieved a price of EUR 8,365.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20 %. Admittedly, works by Josephus Augustus Knip have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Maison de Buffon in the Jardin de Plantes, Paris in November 2012 with an auction result of EUR 75,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A flock of sheep in a stable von Josephus Augustus Knip kam im Oktober 2002 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 8.365,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Josephus Augustus Knip auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Maison de Buffon in the Jardin de Plantes, Paris im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 75.400,00.
