Upper estimate price exceeded by 100 %.
This artwork by Joseph Pennell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2005. In the THE HOUSE SALE auction, the work Hampton Court Palace sold for USD 300.00 (€ 254.45) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Pennell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New York from Brooklyn; and The City in 1915 (Wuerth 671; and 679) in February 2002 with an auction result of USD 2,232.50 (€ 2,578.54).
