Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An Alpine village with a mother and her child returning home by John Pedder was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book auction at Christies in London in December 2004. The price achieved of GBP 478.00 (€ 676.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by John Pedder have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Corrie Kinloch, Sutherland; and Loch Merkland, Sutherland in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,661.56).
