Safra - Selling Without Reserve auction at Christies in New York in January this year. The price achieved of USD 604,800.00 (€ 557,008.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 500,000.00 – 800,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Mallord William Turner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rome, From Mount Aventine in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 30,322,500.00 (€ 39,035,113.21).
