However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Farington - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The gatehouse on the bridge over the River Severn at Bridgnorth, Shropshire, with the church of St. Leonard beyond, which sold at auction in November 2003 for GBP 14,340.00 (€ 20,585.28).
