Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2013 Christies in London held the auction The Collection of Professor Sir Albert Richardson, P.R.A., which included the work The Old Bridge across the Lune at Lancaster by Joseph Farington. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,643.60) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Farington achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The gatehouse on the bridge over the River Severn at Bridgnorth, Shropshire, with the church of St. Leonard beyond in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 14,340.00 (€ 20,585.28).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The gatehouse on the bridge over the River Severn at Bridgnorth, Shropshire, with the church of St. Leonard beyond im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.340,00 (€ 20.585,28).
