In October 2004 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART, which included the work Shipping on a calm river by Joseph Bles. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 4,182.50 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Bles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch The Daily Market On The Groenmarkt With The St. Jacobskerk In The Back, The Hague in October 2008 with an auction result of EUR 46,350.00.

Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shipping on a calm river von Joseph Bles zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 4.182,50 und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Bles erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch The Daily Market On The Groenmarkt With The St. Jacobskerk In The Back, The Hague im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 46.350,00.
