Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bay Near Valparaiso, Chile by Josef Karl Berthold Püttner was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 23,750.00 (€ 19,208.99). Other works by Josef Karl Berthold Püttner have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in January 2008 by the work An Amercian port view said to be San Franciso harbor at USD 37,000.00 (€ 24,930.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bay Near Valparaiso, Chile von Josef Karl Berthold Püttner im Mai 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 23.750,00 (€ 19.208,99) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Josef Karl Berthold Püttner wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Januar 2008 die Arbeit An Amercian port view said to be San Franciso harbor mit USD 37.000,00 (€ 24.930,93).
