Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hope by Josef Karl Berthold Püttner was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,533.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Josef Karl Berthold Püttner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Amercian port view said to be San Franciso harbor in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 37,000.00 (€ 24,930.93).
