Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'AUFSATZ' A HAMMERED BRASS CENTERPIECE, CIRCA 1925-1931 by Josef Hoffmann was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2008. It changed hands for a price of USD 21,250.00 (€ 16,740.19) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 18,000.00 – 22,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josef Hoffmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work M 92 Table Lamp, Circa 1904 in November 2017 with an auction result of EUR 237,000.00.

Die Arbeit 'AUFSATZ' A HAMMERED BRASS CENTERPIECE, CIRCA 1925-1931 von Josef Hoffmann kam im November 2008 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 16.740,19) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 18.000,00 – 22.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Josef Hoffmann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit M 92 Table Lamp, Circa 1904 im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 237.000,00.
