Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Josef Hoffmann could be acquired at Christies in London in October 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings auction, the work A camel train in the desert changed hands for GBP 235.00 (€ 371.73) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josef Hoffmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work M 92 Table Lamp, Circa 1904 in November 2017 with an auction result of EUR 237,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Josef Hoffmann konnte im Oktober 2002 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings wechselte die Arbeit A camel train in the desert für GBP 235,00 (€ 371,73) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Josef Hoffmann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit M 92 Table Lamp, Circa 1904 im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 237.000,00.
