In April last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Man on a Bicycle by Josef Herman. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,040.00 (€ 2,432.63), 70% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josef Herman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Irish Scene in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 24,000.00 (€ 35,614.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man on a Bicycle von Josef Herman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.040,00 (€ 2.432,63) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Josef Herman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Irish Scene im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 24.000,00 (€ 35.614,79).
