This artwork by Josef Herman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Olympia in June 2007. In the 20th Century British & Irish Art auction, the work Irish Scene sold for GBP 24,000.00 (€ 35,614.79) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. This high result makes Irish Scene the most expensive artwork by Josef Herman that we have observed at auctions so far.
