Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction The Orientalist Sale, which included the work Spanishthe Harem Guard by José Villegas. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,541.70) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by José Villegas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spanish Siesta in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 579,000.00 (€ 496,143.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Orientalist Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spanishthe Harem Guard von José Villegas zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.541,70) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von José Villegas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Spanish Siesta im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 579.000,00 (€ 496.143,96).
