Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting, which included the work En El Parque (In The Park) by José Villegas. The price achieved of GBP 61,250.00 (€ 74,055.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 55,000.00 – 65,000.00. Admittedly, works by José Villegas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spanish Siesta in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 579,000.00 (€ 496,143.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting durch, in der auch die Arbeit En El Parque (In The Park) von José Villegas zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 61.250,00 (€ 74.055,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 55.000,00 – 65.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von José Villegas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Spanish Siesta im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 579.000,00 (€ 496.143,96).
